01

Getting Started

How do I check if NNCB is available at my address?

Select your community and click Check Availability. You’ll be taken to our secure customer portal where you can enter your address, see the services available at your location and place an order.

How much does service cost?

Pricing varies by community and service level. Select your community and enter your address to see the speeds and pricing available at your location.

NNCB offers straightforward monthly pricing with no data caps, no throttling and no long-term contracts.

What is the difference between a Survey and a Sign-Up?

In some service areas, a Survey acts as a pre-order when additional fiber construction or an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is still needed at your property.

A Sign-Up is a complete service order and is generally available when the network and equipment needed to serve your property are already in place.

The process varies by community, and our team will contact you if additional construction or installation is required.

02

Installation & Activation

What is an ONT?

An ONT, or Optical Network Terminal, is the equipment that connects the fiber-optic network to your home or business.

The ONT converts the fiber signal into an Ethernet connection that connects to your Wi-Fi router or other network equipment.

What happens during installation?

The installation process depends on whether fiber and an ONT are already installed at your property.

If additional construction or an ONT installation is required, the local network owner or its construction partner may complete that work first. Once the fiber connection is ready, NNCB coordinates activation of your internet service.

Can my service be activated remotely?

In some situations, yes. Remote activation may be possible when you already receive service over the local public fiber network, the required ONT is in place and your network configuration supports a remote service change.

The process varies by community and network owner. We recommend keeping your existing internet service active until your NNCB connection has been successfully activated.

03

Routers & Wi-Fi

Can I use my own router?

Absolutely. NNCB service uses a standard Ethernet connection, so you are welcome to use your own compatible router or mesh Wi-Fi system.

For Gigabit service, we recommend equipment designed to support Gigabit Ethernet and current Wi-Fi standards.

Does NNCB provide a Wi-Fi router?

Yes. NNCB offers an optional Nokia Beacon 3.1 Wi-Fi router. It is a basic router designed for smaller homes and spaces.

Customers with larger homes, multiple floors or more complex Wi-Fi needs may prefer their own router or mesh Wi-Fi system.

Will I get the full advertised speed over Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi performance varies based on your router, device, distance from the router, walls, interference and other factors.

For the most accurate speed test, connect a capable computer directly to your router using Ethernet.

About NNCB

What is open-access fiber?

An open-access fiber network allows multiple qualified internet service providers to offer service over shared public fiber infrastructure.

This model creates greater provider choice and competition while maximizing the value of community fiber investments. NNCB provides service exclusively over open-access networks.

What makes NNCB different?

NNCB is focused on straightforward fiber internet without unnecessary extras: unlimited data, no throttling, no long-term contracts, clear pricing, the option to use your own router and 24/7/365 technical support.

Why does NNCB provide retail internet service?

NoaNet Community Broadband provides communities with another high-quality, affordable choice for internet service over Washington’s public and PUD-owned open-access fiber networks.

Our goal is simple: fast fiber, local service and a fair price while supporting the continued growth of community broadband networks.
